Pull on your wellies, wrap up warm and celebrate the arrival of spring with a National Trust snowdrop walk.
We can never be 100 per cent sure when the snowdrops will be at their best but visit during February and you're likely to be greeted by a white carpet of these delicate flowers.
Mike Calnan, Head of Gardens and Parks at the National Trust, says: "There's something magical about a walk in the gardens when the snowdrops are in full bloom. It's a sure sign that spring is on its way and it's a perfect opportunity to get closer to nature." Here are a couple of the gardens famous for their snowdrop displays:
