Come and Sing event at Lichfield Cathedral

Singers wanted for 'Come and Sing The Pirates of Penzance' at Lichfield Cathedral - Narrated by Simon Price, Sheriff of Lichfield

Following the huge success of last year's 'Come and Sing The Mikado', Lichfield Cathedral is delighted to invite singers young and old to the 'Pirates of Penzance' on

February 27. This concert will enable everyone who enjoys singing, whatever their experience, to sing in the magnificent surroundings of Lichfield Cathedral as they 'star' in their very own performance.

For all those who wish to sing there will be a rehearsal from 2-4pm in the Cathedral, directed by Catherine Lamb, Cathedral

Assistant Director of Music.  If you wish to sing please book tickets at the bookshop where you can organise to hire a score at the same time.

The performers will then take part in the 7:30pm concert on the same day and will sing as part of a performance involving members of the Cathedral Choir and

community in the solo roles, with narration by Mr Simon Price, Sheriff of Lichfield.

Cathy Lamb, Assistant Director of Music said of the event:

"Everybody loves Gilbert and Sullivan and my special favourite is "Pirates". It would be wonderful if we could fill the Cathedral with all ages and abilities of singers to be our

chorus. The afternoon rehearsal will teach you all you need to know so do join us!"

The Cathedral needs your help so please consider joining us for this event to help raise funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the Cathedral. To book tickets and scores just contact the Cathedral Book and Gift Shop on 01543 306150 or call in to No. 9, The Close.
