Dear Zoo
Dear Zoo. Rod Campbell.
I think that Dear Zoo is quite a good story for my sister and me. I love the idea of the zoo sending us funny pets.
I think the monkey is the best animal in the book and really I would want to keep him, except he is too cheeky! I also think it is funny when we consider cutting a hole in the ceiling so we can keep the giraffe! My Mom tells us this story using toy animals wrapped up in brown paper bags and we have great fun. We have to guess what animal is hiding in the bag.
We love our soft toy dog, Bernie, who is always the best pet at the end of the book.

Dear Zoo is a firm favourite with both my children. The story is simple – a child wants the zoo to send them a pet, but most of the animals are unsuitable. My kids love the variety of animals sent
by the zoo and make their noises or actions. The simplicity of the text meant that they soon started repeating the story themselves. I'm sure this book will still be going strong in another 25 years.
